Successful learning outcome
This learner will have gained a basic understanding of the meaning equality and diversity; it’s place in and value to society, key issues around the subject of equality, diversity and inclusion. Also understands legislation making it illegal to discriminate between people on grounds of ethnic background, gender, sexual orientation, religious beliefs, disability and age.
Course content
- Understanding what is mean by diversity and appreciate it’s value to society
- Understanding what is meant by stereotyping and the underlying assumptions and generalisations.
- Understanding the concept of equal opportunities.
- Understanding equality and diversity law, legislation and internal policies in relation to their own area of responsibility
